CASS researchers contribute to ANU funding

It was announced yesterday that ANU will receive more than $34m in research grants through the latest round of Australian Research Council grants.

ANU Vice-Chancellor Ian Young said the 102 funded projects would help further the university's reputation as one of the world's top universities. "These grants will go a long way towards helping the university continue its world-class research with local and global application.  This new funding is recognition of the quality of work at ANU and the high standard of staff and academics."

20 academics from the College of Arts and Social Sciences were among the recipients of the funding.  Such a strong showing from CASS staff highlights the quality of research that is continually being undertaken in the College.

Dean and Director of the College, Professor Toni Makkai, congratulated all the college staff who were successful and those in the research and finance offices who provided assistance throughout the application process.
